Knot Bad Christmas Round-Up
It’s odd to become well known in this scene, and If you had asked me a few years ago what my marketing model would look like for the fiber industry, I wouldn’t be able to tell you. A lot of times, I receive messages “How did you get well know? any advice on how to stand out?” Well, my answer will always be the same; have fun and embarrass yourself. I started noticing real attention when I started dressing up my characters and it’s always been so fun for me to do when I do amigurumi! For the past two Christmas seasons, I have been going pretty all-out with my cosplay for these collections I have done! Down below, we’re taking a trip down memory lane of all the Christmas Ami that I’ve dressed up with and all doll’s you see will be linked to the free patterns scattered across my blog! I hope you find one that will bring you plenty of Holiday cheer! For all of the dolls, I used Lion Brand’s Vanna’s Choice to create them, which you can order HERE
If you do find something you like, click the image to be directed to the FREE pattern. be sure to tag me on Instagram (@knot.bad) and use the hashtag #yarnpunk so I can see it and possibly even feature your work on the @yarnpunk Instagram!
This first collection was made own my own whim and I love every single one of these little critters! All the patterns are available for Charles the Gingerbread Man, Jeffrey the Eggnog, Casper the Snowman, Claus the Yeti, and Lux the Reindeer. All the patterns stand about 5 inches tall and out of the two collections, these are the smaller amigurumi. Perfect for Christmas gifts!
As you can see, the dolls and I really got into character! I think beyond just the look of the doll, Amigurumi allows you to add so much depth to them. What also makes this collection near and dear to my heart was that it was my first time ever trying to come up with names for my creations; maybe on my next collection, I will even add backstories and lore to them!
Knot a Bad Christmas Collection
Here is my second collection hat I did in the winter of 2017! I teamed up with Lion Brand Yarn for this one and I was so humbled that they wanted to give life to my previous collection! All the dolls here can be found as free patterns; please say hello to Eve the Christmas Tree, Charlie the Gingerbread Woman, Jeffrey the Eggnog, and Casper the Snowman! You can even find the kit for this entire collection as well offered by Lion Brand HERE. All these Amigurmi this time around are in Jumbo size! (Standing almost 8 inches tall) Casper and Jeffrey grew a bit, Charlie is the girl counterpart to Charles and Eve is a Brand new addition. They all stand roughly 8″ inches tall.
Making these collections have been my favorite part of the holidays and I always adore the reaction I get from my readers. These jumbo sizes are so much fun – I think you will have a blast making them! Don’t forget to head over to the Lion Brand website to grab the kit of all 4 of these pieces by heading HERE.
The last Christmas Items on the list – Holiday Narwhals! Many people don’t even know they exist, which is shame. There amigurumi are made for the holidays with their festive tusks, and can be altered however you see fit! They are small and made quickly, perfect for any beginner to the Amigurumi world.
And there you have it! I hope this blog post helps make it easier to find all my Christmas and Holiday amiguirumi on my site rather than having to hunt them down!
