If you hop onto pinterest and look for whales, there is a sea of them. LOL, sorry, too good not to say! But really, everyone’s got a whale pattern and I remember enjoying those patterns when I first started crocheting and they usually come in small sizes and quick and easy to make! A few holidays seasons ago, I had made a holiday narwhal but for some reason never came out with the whale counterpart? Well, here’s my take on it! (You can find the narwhal pattern HERE)
To make my whale stand out, I decided to go with a more chibi look! With it’s big buggy eyes and chubby fins, this little whale is perfect to bring joy to anyone! They work up so quickly and are seriously beginner friendly – it’s single crochet the whole time!
Down below, you can find the free pattern along with the premium version (Which means it’s printer-friendly, ad free, and comes as a PDF!) You can find that version HERE.

Finish and leave tail for sewing
Now that you have all your pieces, take out your darning needle and now its time to get sewing! For the fins, it will make a difference on how you twist them, so be aware of that don’t forget to embroider some face details to make it EXTRA cute!
And there you have it, I hope you enjoy your little chibi whales!
