My newest project is here in the form of Yarn Punk! I’m so excited to finally have this out to the world to see. When I first started crocheting, this was not intended but I really wouldn’t want to have it any other way than this. With the launch of Yarn Punk, we will be keeping  it more community based and making it about being inclusive. You can read up more about Yarn Punk in detail by heading over the website but down below you can read what it’s all about!

What is Yarn Punk?

It’s crazy to say, but a new genre along with a maker movement in the fiber world.  The definition of Yarn Punk is: An individual that incorporates yarn into their everyday lives with confidence to express oneself. As long as there is yarn involved, you can make Yarn Punk anything you wish! For example, my own personal style is cyberpunk mixed with yarn, but if you decide that unicorns and yarn are your style, make it yours! Read more about it here. Yarn Punk also has a heavy emphasis on music and audio, which you can read about here and check out the spotify community playlists here!

 

Is there a way I have to look to be Yarn Punk? 

Not in the slightest; but it never hurts to have yarn involved in it! People come in all difference shapes, sizes, and styles, and we should be celebrating that! Yarn Punk is also a mentality; but if you did want to incorporate yarn into some new pieces to up cycle your clothing and give it some fresh new life, you can head here to find the link to the tutorial showing off how to do so!

 

How can I keep up with Yarn Punk community?

Yarn Punk can be found in so many different places, head here to be directed to the main website to read up more on it, sign up for the weekly newsletter, and read about other Yarn Punks in the community along with tutorials and an online shop with some fun items being announced in the coming weeks. You can also keep to date with the Yarn Punk instagram by  heading here, meeting new people by talking music and fiber in the Facebook group, and you can even join in by heading to the subreddit at r/YarnPunk!

What are some fun things I can check out?
