Do you and your loved ones have a sweet tooth? I don’t blame you.. I can’t tell you how many late night sweets I’ve had! Why not treat yourself to something sweet with this Cupcake Pillow? Add whimsy to the room, bring a smile to anyone’s face and hold all your other items with it!
**Notes: This pattern is worked in continuous rounds.
It’s helpful to know how to do invisible decrease as it will look cleaner!
Always be mindful of commas in the pattern!
**Entire Pattern is worked with double stranding the yarn! (Using two strands of yarn at the same time)
Materials: 5mm (H) hook
Lion Brand Baby Soft (2 skeins of each color)
· Twinkle Print (2 skeins)
· Little Girl Pink (2 skeins)
Polyester fiber fill
Scissors
Darning needle
Abbreviations: sc = single crochet
hdc = half double crochet
mr = magic ring
inc = increase (2 sc in next stitch)
Sl st = slip stitch
dec = decrease (sc 2 together)
ch = chain
FLO = front loop only
BLO = back loop only
Fpdc = front post double crochet
(#)= number of stitches at the end of the round
Pink Wrapper (Bottom Half) (Begin in Little Girl Pink)
Begin with 10 hdc in Magic Ring (10)
Round 1: 2 hdc in each stitch around (20)
Round 2: * hdc, 2 hdc in next stitch* around (30)
Round 3: * hdc 2, 2 hdc in next stitch around (40)
Round 4: * hdc 3, 2 hdc in next stitch * around (50)
Round 5: * hdc 4, 2 hdc in next stitch * around (60)
Round 6: * hdc 5, 2 hdc in next stitch * around (70)
Round 7: * hdc 6, 2 hdc in next stitch * around (80)
Round 8: * hdc 7, 2 hdc in next stitch * around (90)
Round 9: * hdc 8, 2 hdc in next stitch * around (100)

Switch to sprinkle print yarn for the ruffles around
Round 20: Ch 1, *2 hdc in next stitch FLO, 4 hdc in next stitch FLO* around.
Finish off
When working with the frosting, you will be working in the FLO and BLO. After doing the “ruffles”, you will be working your increase rounds in the BLO of the same row (seen above)

Round 7: *Sc 2, dec* around (18)
stuff firmly
Round 8: *Sc, dec* around (12)
Finish off and close hole. Leave tail for sewing
Pockets (Make 2)
Ch23
Round 1: Dc into 3rd chain from hook, dc across.
Round 2: Ch 2, turn. *Dc 2, fpdc * across, ending with dc 2.
Round 3-7: Ch 2, turn. *Dc 2, bpdc* across, ending with dc 2.
Finish off and leave tail for sewing
Working in the front post
Below, you will be working the front post from behind
This can be a little awkward with your hands!
Assembly: The main pieces to be sewn together are the bottom and top half of the cupcake!
Once you have the pockets completed, sew them onto the sides of the cupcake!
