It’s always so much fun to be able to switch up textures when it comes to crochet and with this scarf, it’s never dull! Working in the front post and a normal double crochet, this piece blends in two different textures throughout – and topping it off with some very cute pom poms!
The inspiration of the name and color combo come from the anime “Berserk” and I think this really does a good job at encompassing the feel of the manga.
Down below, you will find the pattern and everything you need to know about it before getting started!
So Here’s What You’ll Need
Scissors
2 Skeins (of each color) of Lion Brand Yarn Basic Stitch (Black, Color A) and (Red, Color B) Any worsted weight yarn will work!
Darning Needle
Measuring tape
6.5 mm Hook
2x Buttercream Poms Poms

Abbreviations
Ch – chain
Dc – Double Crochet
Sl st – Slip stitch

Let’s Begin!
Begin in Color A, Ch 26
Row 1: In 3rd Chain from hook, Dc. Double crochet across (24)
Working in the FPDC now. In writing, but photo tutorial will follow!
Row 2: Ch 2, turn. Dc in first stitch, *Fpdc in next, Dc in next 2 stitches, Fpdc in next, repeat from * until last stitch. (24)
Row 3: Ch 2, turn. Dc in first stitch, *Bpdc in next, Dc in next 2 stitches, Bpdc in next, repeat from * until last stitch. (24)
Here is how to create the Fpdc:
After your initial Dc across, ch 2 and turn. You will be working into the Post (circled below!)
Dc into first stitch.
Dc into the Front Post.
And continue your dc. Chain into the next 2 stitches, and then fpdc, following the pattern above.
To work into the Bpdc, work through the same post, but from behind.
Row 4 – 15: Repeat rows 2-3 (24)
Switch to Color B
Row 16 – 30: Ch 2, turn. dc across. (24)
Switch to Color A
Row 31-45: Repeat rows 2-3 (24)
Switch to Color B
Row 46 – 60: Ch 2, turn. dc across. (24)
Switch to Color A
Row 61 -75: Repeat rows 2-3 (24)
Switch to Color B
Row 76 – 90: Ch 2, turn. dc across. (24)
Switch to Color A
Row 91 – 105: Repeat rows 2-3 (24)
Switch to Color B
Row 106 – 120: Ch 2, turn. dc across. (24)
Switch to Color A
Row 121- 135: Repeat rows 2-3 (24)

Finish off
Pulling Together
To pull together, insert your darning needle with your yarn. Go through each stitch back and forth, and pull together!
Now you can add on your Pom poms to the end!
