New trendy hairstyle
Do you have a hobby that you’re always telling yourself that you’re going to pick up but you just.. don’t? Well for me, that’s gardening. I have been telling myself that I’ll create my own garden but for some reason I just never get around to it. So, here’s my solution to that problem of mine – I’ll crochet one! Or at least one vegetable from it.
I feel like I need to explain this character to you – I know it doesn’t look like a traditional radish but it should be apparent, just look at it’s “hair”! I like to think of it that way at least! Have a different hairstyle you want to try with the leaves? Be sure to tag me so I can share on my social media!
Which can all be found here:
Down below, you can find the free pattern to my Radical Radish pattern so you can get started on your own gardening passion – and you don’t even have to worry about having a green thumb or not. This pattern is super easy and you won’t need to water, just make with love.
This project is just one of many that will be a part of my vegetable collection! Are there certain veggies you would like to see made? Let me know down below in the comments section!

To finish off the rest of your piece, insert your needle into two of the loops at once and pull tight. Do that in the next few for a clean finish.
(Click here to see how to seam your hole shut at this stage!)
Leaf (Make 3)
Ch 7. (Leave a long tail!)
In first stitch, sl st. In the next following stitches, you will be doing a sc, hdc, dc, tr.
In the last stitch, you will do tr x 12 into the same stitch. Your work will begin to turn!
On the bottom side of your work, you will do, in order, a tr, dc, hdc, sc, sl st into the tip.
(The first triple crochet can be difficult to find the correct stitch in, so don’t give up!)
Finish off
To make it easier to sew the leaf onto the body, take the long tail that you left and weave it in through the other stitches to get to the “bottom” of the leaf like so:
Assembly:
Now it’s time to sew your leaves onto your radish!
Using a pin, it will be helpful to keep into place your leaf on the front of the head (Not directly on top, but this placement can be chosen by your discretion!)
Underneath the leaf, you will pull your darning needle and attach at least three of the stitches to the body.
Once you have your middle leaf attached, you can now pin into place your other leaves and sew those on as well!
After sewing, be sure to cut your strands of yarn and push them in to hide them!
And for your final step, be sure to embroider your cute face on! Including the smile, lashes, and blush!
Roots
Using 2 separate strands of white yarn, attach with your darning needle and pull through.
Once through, pull back through to make a loop so it sits securely!
Do this one more time and then cut for desired length!
And now you’re all done! I hope you enjoyed the pattern and please feel free to show me over on Instagram or Twitter!

Kenzie says
I’m having some trouble when decreasing. I do the row I’m on with the correct number and type of stitches all the way through and I still don’t reach the end of the round. this is my second time trying the radical radish(my first one didn’t turn out). Is this a user error? Is anyone having a similar problem?
