Spring is here and the flowers are all starting to bloom – you can feel the freshness of new life all around and it’s such a great feeling! To me and many others, cherry blossoms are such a magical flower – and so so pretty! They only appear so often (generally during the spring) but with this free project, you can add these appliques to clothing, small decorations, or find a creative way to include them in your lives!
These are made with ease and work up really quickly! You can make as many as your heart pleases to add a little bit of freshness into your lives. I can’t wait to see how you use this simple pattern!
Don’t forget to pin this pattern for later on your Pinterest!
And here are some other projects that go well with these cherry blossoms that you can find on the blog for free!
Materials:
(These materials are what I used, using a bigger yarn hook size will just yield bigger cherry blossom!)
2 Skeins of Worsted Weight yarn (My go-to is using Basic Stitch from Lion Brand Yarn!)
Abbreviations:
Ch – chain
Sl St – Slip Stitch
Sc – single crochet
Inc – Increase (2 Sc in next stitch)
Dec – decrease (Sc 2 together)
Hdc – Half Double Crochet
Dc – Double Crochet
Let’s Begin!
Creating the Cherry Blossoms:
Begin in Red
Sc 5 into the Magic Ring (But switching to Pink in the last stitch!)
Sl st into next stitch.
Ch 2. Dc into the SAME stitch as your sl st is in.
Dc into the same stitch 2 more times (3 times total)
Sl st into the next stitch
Repeat the same process of Ch 2, 3 Dc, sl st into next stitch.
