This is Joey and he likes to wear bows. Just because hes a boy kangaroo, doesn’t mean he cant feel cute in a bow.
The bush fires in Australia have been devastating to so many aspects of the country; the people, are agriculture, homes, and especially the animals who inhabit this part of the world. This must all be so confusing to them.
With climate change finally making it’s true appearance that is difficult to ignore, the animals are taking the brunt of the pain with already an estimated loss of 1 billion wildlife.
One family of animals that are involved are the lovely kangaroos! If you would like to learn more about what’s going on in Australia, along with a free Koala pattern as well, head to the Amigurumi Koala Post.
Even if you can’t make a direct impact by being there to volunteer your time, we can raise awareness through our art! Many of the animals need our help and the wonderful WIRES service (click here to learn more and donate!) are helping on the ground level.
I hope creating this project will bring awareness to whats going on and convince others to help out, whether it be with donations or items. Keep the conversation going about what climate change is doing to our world, instead of using the energy to deny it.
