I remember back in high school and trying boba tea for the first time; I hated it. I wanted to gag. I didn’t understand the appeal of wanting these chewy ball shaped things in my drink, so strayed away for a while. I had a friend convince me to try it again down the road and I guess my taste buds just reacted differently because I was in love with it! I also took a trip to Vietnam and spent a lot of time in Saigon; Boba tea was so popular there and it was around every corner it seemed like!
As of recent, this odd drink is becoming more and more popular in the Portland area; It seems to just be the “thing” my friends and I go do! It’s always such a fun treat, and that’s where the inspiration came from to create this little chibi Bubble Tea! Perfect size to hang on the tree for the holidays as well!
