May Roundup: Color of the Month in Marigold
I’m a little late to doing my roundups, but May seems like a good month to start! If you follow Lion Brand Yarn and some of their bloggers, you may have noticed that they offer a Color of the Month which I think is such a fun idea! Adding a theme to each month just adds a little bit of whimsy. Marigold, as you can see, is lots of yellows involved. I don’t think I have an article of clothing in my wardrobe that is yellow, but what a pop it brings! I just made my first “yellow” scarf (which you will find below!) and with all the black I wear, I think it’s a fun touch, especially with the warmer weather creeping up on us on the West Coast! Two of my patterns (one is even kitted through Lion Brand Yarn!) fit the mold, along with some other favorites from other talented makers can be found below, along with their blog and the kits for those specific patterns. I hope you find a pattern that inspires you down below!
Royal Crown Market Bag
To begin the season of Spring, I had the opportunity to play with some Of Lion Brand Yarn’s 24/7 Cotton yarn, and what a fun one to play with! With it, we decided to make something for earth day; and not just the one day of year, but for all year! This Royal Crown Market Bag that I created is a great substitute to eliminate the use of plastic and paper bags. We only have one planet, we may as well be kind to it! The kit to this pattern can be found here and the free pattern is available in the pattern’s section of my blog.
The Honeycomb Scarf
The “yellow” Scarf that I had mentioned in the beginning of this post is the Honeycomb Scarf that I made! To raise awareness for the bee’s, and to keep you warm on those chilly spring mornings, the free pattern to this piece can be found here on my blog!
The Midtown Cardigan
Designed by one of my most influential designers that have impacted my love for crochet, Stephanie from All About Ami released this gem of a Cardigan this month! Not restricted to just the spring, this wonderful piece can be worn all year round and I truly can’t think of anyone who wouldn’t be able to rock this. With its slouchy and relaxed look, it’s just so cute not to admire! You can find the kit to this pattern here!
Fair Isle Biscotti Hat
A cozy hat is good all year round, right? Made with big chunky yarn and a big hook, this hat from Olivia over at Hopeful Honey will make any heart swoon. And if you ask me, this name matches perfectly with her blogger name! If you want to make a cozy hat and have it worked up quickly, you can find the kit for this pattern here
The Adirondack Wrap
The final pattern on this Round up is this incredible wrap created by ChiWei over on One Dog Woof! Such a gorgeous wrap and a great project for on the go- you can see it blends yellows with so many other color’s to bring such a warm feeling to the eyes. I think she nailed the color scheme on this one and matches with all the blooming plants and trees that you see popping up with the Spring time. You can find the kit to this pattern here!
I hope some of these pattern’s give’s you a little inspiration or want to create one of these yourself! And while you’re at it, be sure to check out all these great blogger’s and their patterns!
